Claire I. (Hurld) Leary of New Hampshire, formerly of Tewksbury, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2009 at the age of 86.
Born in Stoneham, Claire was the loving daughter of the late Henry M. Hurld and Isabelle (O'Brien) Hurld. Claire was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be sadly missed.
Claire graduated from The Salem Hospital Nursing Program, working as an R.N. for over 45 years. She retired from Tewksbury State Hospital as a Nursing Supervisor. Claire was an avid reader and a life master bridge player. She loved the Boston Pops and was a huge Red Sox fan. Claire enjoyed gardening, however, her pride was her family. Her children and especially her grandchildren were sure to put a smile on her face all the time.
Claire was the beloved wife of the late Daniel F. Leary. She was the devoted mother of D. Michael Leary and his wife Cindy of the South Shore, Kathleen Leary of New Mexico, Timothy Leary and his wife Shari of Denver, Colorado, Eileen Smith and her husband Matthew of Southern New Hampshire. Claire was the cherished grandmother of Matthew Kent, Shannon Leary, Johnathan Leary, Madeline Smith and Ethan Smith. She was the dear sister of the late Bernard Hurld.
Funeral from the Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING Friday at 10:30am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Claire's life in St. William's Church, 1351 Main St. Tewksbury at 11:30am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Thursday from 4-7pm in the Funeral Home. Interment Tewksbury Cemetery, Tewksbury.
