Dana Joseph Beane, a lifelong and proud resident of Stoneham, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, July 16, 2021.
Adoring father of Alexandra Lee Beane, of Salem, NH, and devoted son of Carolyn Caci and the late John Caci, of Peabody, MA and Beverly Beane and the late Joseph Leo Beane of Stoneham and Tewksbury, MA. Dana is survived also by his four siblings, David Beane and his partner Peg McLaughlin of Waterboro Maine, Maryjo Stanek and her husband Marty of Bozeman, MT, Linda Freeley and her husband Ted, of Roslindale and Lisa Beane and her husband Brian Morin, of Tewksbury, Gina Beane (Alexandra's mother) of Stoneham, as well as several adoring nieces and nephews.
The consummate townie, Dana loved Stoneham, and spent his life in the community he was dedicated to and loved. As a high school senior, Dana co-captained the Stoneham Spartan football team and was selected for the inaugural Massachusetts Shriner's All-Star football game
in 1979. A complete sports enthusiast, Dana was a youth football coach in the town and for his
former team.
Dana held many jobs throughout his career, but undoubtedly his favorite was his last, working as a bartender of the Marconi Club in Stoneham. He had a vast network of friends, but family was his first love, and his truest love of all was his daughter Alexandra. Dana also had a lifelong love of the beach and boating, and was perhaps happiest when he was behind the wheel of his beloved craft, the Alley Cat, cruising the coves and beaches of Gloucester and Rockport.
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with his family on Friday July 23rd 2021 in the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM from 4 pm to 7pm followed by a Celebration of Dana's Life beginning at 7 pm. Parking attendants and elevator available.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in memory of Dana Beane to Stoneham High Booster Club 149 Franklin St. Stoneham MA 02180.
