Daniel C. "Danny" Maffeo

Daniel C. "Danny" Maffeo, 88, of Wilmington, formerly of Stoneham passed away on October 26, 2018 at Woodbriar Health Center in Wilmington.

Danny is the loving husband of Irene N. (Hurlburt) Maffeo for 68 years. He is the devoted Dad of Virginia (Maffeo) Scott and husband William, Daniel C Maffeo, Jr. and wife Maureen (Dowler), Annette (Maffeo) Peoples and husband David, James Maffeo and Marie (Maffeo) MacCuish and husband Ed. He is also a very proud PaPa to 12 grandchildren and Great PaPa to 16 great grandchildren.

Danny was born in 1929 in Winchester and son to the late Pasquale and Antoinette (Riccio) Maffeo. He is the brother of Ann Caruso, the late Louise Hewis, Celeste Ciampa, Ameila Gangie, Pasquale Maffeo, Blanche Flynn and Albina Kolls.

He worked at Atlantic Gelatin (Kraft Foods) in Woburn for 42 years. Danny was an active member at the Winchester Son's of Italy, Wakefield Elks, St. Patrick Catholic Parish in Stoneham and was a volunteer with the VA Hospital in Bedford. He enjoyed dancing, bowling, cooking, but most importantly enjoyed being with his entire family, especially his wife, Irene!

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the Family on Tuesday, October 30th from 4-8pm in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM. Funeral services by the Barile Family Funeral Home, Wednesday, October 31st at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Danny's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 9am. Parking attendants and elevator are available. Interment Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
