Daniel E. Cummings of Reading passed away on Sunday April 16, 2006 at Winchester Hospital. He was 64 years of age.





Born in Woburn, Daniel was the loving son of the late John and Effie (Scanlon) Driscoll. Daniel was a warm and caring son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all.





Daniel was a lifelong Reading resident. He was employed by the Reading Municipal Light Department and he was also a member of the Reading Reserve Fire Department.





Daniel was the beloved husband of 43 years to Sharon (Runco) Cummings, with whom they celebrated their anniversary on March 28th. He was the devoted father of Kevin Cummings and his wife Daryle Hillsgrove of Pelham, New Hampshire, Brian Cummings of Melrose, Tracy Cummings of Stoneham and the late Lisa Cummings. Daniel was the cherished grandfather of Ryan and Tyler Cummings and the dear cousin of Johanna Herook of Reading. Daniel also leaves behind his 3 dogs Missy, Teddy and Shephard. He is also survived by 2 brothers-in-law and 1 sister-in-law.





Funeral from the Joseph Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING Thursday at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Daniel's life in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St. Reading at 9am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours Wednesday 5-8pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot located behind Atlantic Supermarket on Haven St. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, Stoneham.
