Daniel F. Driscoll of Reading passed away on Monday January 30, 2006 at Winchester Hospital, Winchester. He was 87 years of age.
Born in Boston October 21, 1918, Dan was the loving son of the late Daniel F. and Nellie (Kelley) Driscoll.
Daniel was a Massachusetts State Trooper for 22 years retiring 1963. He then was employed by New England Telephone Company for 20 years retiring in 1983. He was a late US Coast Guard Veteran serving our Country during World War II.
Daniel was a large part of Civic Service in the Town of Reading being Chairman and Member of the Cemetery Board, Member of the Board of Registrars, Committee Chairman of Boy Scout Troop 702 and a Member of the Knights of Columbus Reading Council # 1031.
Daniel was the beloved husband of Doris (DeLong) Driscoll and devoted father of Danielle Powell of Merrimack, NH, Deborah Soda of Dunstable, Daniel F. Driscoll of Winchester and Deidre Schiefen of Chelmsford. He was the cherished grandfather of 7. Dear brother of Eileene Sherriff of Revere, Genevieve Miret of FL and the late Thomas Driscoll of Stoneham and Mary Driscoll of Revere.
Funeral from the Joseph Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING on Saturday at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Daniel's life in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St. Reading at 9am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours Friday 4-8pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot located behind Atlantic Supermarket on Haven St. Interment Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
