Daniel J. "Danny" Fennell Jr.

Daniel J. "Danny" Fennell Jr., of Somerville, passed away, surrounded by family and friends on Friday, May 1, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 67 years of age.

Born on November 22nd, 1958, in Cambridge, MA, Danny was the beloved son of Daniel Fennell Sr. and the late Anna (Sico) Fennell. He was the loving brother of Karen Fennell, Brenda Burke and her husband Paul, Pamela Camarro and her husband Stephen, Kenneth Fennell and Robert Fennell and his wife Patricia.

He was a loving uncle to Kerri Lumsden her husband Jason and their children Ella, Rowan, and Jameson; Paul Burke his wife Jacqueline and their children Simon and Harrison; Stephen Camarro and his wife Jessica; Trevor Camarro; Kenneth Fennell Jr.; Joseph Fennell; Kayla Fennell; Michelle Villa her husband Nick and their children Sophia, Charlotte, Natalie, Connor, Isabella, and Liv; Derek Reddy; Megan Fennell; and Daniel Fennell. His steady presence, warm heart, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dan was a proud graduate of Cambridge Rindge and Latin School and went on to study accounting at Northeastern University. He spent much of his career at Northeastern, where he served as Head Bursar until his retirement. He also worked for many years at the Cambridge Public Library and as an usher at the Boston Garden.

Dan will be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, generosity, and deep love for his family and friends. He had a gift for building lifelong friendships, many of which began in childhood and continued throughout his life. To Dan, friends were more than friends. They became part of his family.

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family on Wednesday May 13th, 2026 from 11 am to 1 pm followed by a Service Celebrating Danny's Eternal Life at 1 in the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. Stoneham. Parking attendants and elevator available.
