Daniel S. MacLean Jr. of Reading passed away on Monday, March 24, 2008 at his home. He was 71 years of age.
Born in Winchester, Daniel was the loving son of the late Daniel S. MacLean and Verna (VanHorn) MacLean. Daniel was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed.
Daniel was a dedicated Laborer for the Teamsters Local 42 in Lynn for 38 years. He was a graduate of Reading Memorial High School class of 1954. Daniel was an avid card player who loved going to Maine.
Daniel was the beloved husband for 40 years of Martha I. (Bray) MacLean. He was the devoted father of Cynthia MacLean of Maine, Steven MacLean and his wife Julie of New Hampshire, Irene, Jonathan and Paul MacLean, all of Reading, Daniel MacLean of Wakefield. Daniel was the cherished grandfather of Steven, Kurt, Lucas, Alicia, Jen-Ai, Jennifer, Justin and Naomi. He was the loving great grandfather of 3. Daniel was the dear brother of William MacLean and his wife Rissa of Idaho, Janet MacLean and her husband Bill of Florida, and the late Ernest and Ronald MacLean. He was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 12pm at the Old South Methodist Church, 6 Salem St. READING. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours, Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9pm in the Joseph Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING. Parking attendants will be available. Interment Private.
