Daniel E. O'Keeffe of Tiverton, Rhode Island, formerly of Reading passed away on Friday, May 20, 2005 at Charlton Hospital in Fall River. He was 85 years of age.
Born in Reading, Daniel was the beloved son of the late Daniel J. O'Keeffe and Bridget (McDonagh) O'Keeffe. Daniel was a loving and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be missed by all.
Daniel was a self employed food distributor for many years. He was a Past Grand Knight for the Reading Knights of Columbus. He was on the Town Committee for the Town of Wilmington. He loved baseball, especially the Red Sox. Daniel was known as one of the "Mudville Guys", playing baseball at the Washington Street Park.
Daniel was the beloved husband of the late Eleanor (Grimes) O'Keeffe. He was the devoted father of Mary Ann O'Keeffe and her husband Paul Chace of Tiverton, RI. Daniel was the cherished grandfather of Olivia and Nicholas Chace and the dear brother of Ann Awiszus of Arlington and the late Margaret Connors, Mary and Joseph O'Keeffe.
Funeral from the Joseph Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING Monday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Daniel's life in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave. Wilmington at 10am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours Sunday 2-6pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot located behind Atlantic Supermarket on Haven St. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
