Dan Powers' happy place was on the beach on Cape Cod in West Yarmouth. With his beach chair, a summer breeze, the sounds of waves crashing on the ocean floor, a grill to feed everyone and of course, the company of the loves of his life… Danielle and Lilly, as well as many other family and friends… Dan was content!

In addition to the beach, he loved his motorcycle along with the ride and freedom it gave him. For all those who knew him… he was a jack of all trades and dabbled in virtually everything; nothing was off limits. He loved the challenge and ultimate rewards that came from wood working, tinkering with cars and bikes, and more.

He was also a genius and ‘techy’ so he knew his way around computers. His work in the computer industry that ultimately led him to a job with Accusoft Corporation where he had been working as a software engineer for the last four years.

He was born on July 21, 1986 in Malden, a son of Daniel and Luisa (Medeiros) Powers. Raised in Stoneham he attended Stoneham Schools and graduated from Stoneham High School with the class of 2004. He then earned his Bachelor’s degree from Wentworth Institute in Boston in 2010. College is where he met Danielle M. Randall. They married in Andover on October 6, 2018 and have made Tewksbury their home since 2015.

Dan was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in 2020 and with every ounce of fight he gave it his best.

He died in his childhood home in Stoneham, surrounded by loved ones on January 5, 2023. He was 36 years of age.

In addition to his wife, Danielle, he leaves their daughter, Lilly M. Powers; his parents, Daniel and Luisa Powers; siblings, Andrew E. Powers and Jourdan T. Paredes (brother-in-law, Carlos); in-laws, Anna M. and Randy A. Randall and David A. Randall; also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather with Dan’s Family on Wednesday, January 11th from 4-7 pm in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street STONEHAM followed by a time to share memories and prayer service at 7 pm. All guests coming to the funeral home are asked to please wear a mask or face covering.  Burial is private.

Memorials in Dan’s name may be made to the Jimmy Fund, in lieu of flowers.
