Daniel J. Tempesta, of Stoneham and longtime resident of Malden, beloved husband of Lucy (Leathe) Tempesta, passed away on Thursday, January 14th, 2021 at the age of 88. Born in Brighton, he is the loving son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Cedrone) Tempesta.
Daniel grew up in the Edgeworth neighborhood of Malden and was a graduate of Malden High School. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps and is a veteran of the Korean War. Daniel worked for the United States Post office in Newtonville for 34 years until his retirement and then continued to work until this past December at Communitas in Wakefield. He was also a lifelong member of the VFW Post 2346 in Saugus. Daniel was a devout Catholic and member of St. Patrick's Parish in Stoneham. He was a diehard Boston sports fan, especially his Celtics. His greatest joy came from being with his family. Daniel was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will truly be missed by his loving family and Bella the cat.
In addition to being the husband of 49 years to Lucy, he is the devoted father of Jennifer Tempesta of Wakefield, Linda Crowe and her husband Bob of Malden, Ralph Giandomenico and his wife Missy of Tewksbury, and Paul Giandomenico and his wife Lisa of Salem, NH. Cherished grandfather of Kevin Crowe, Julie Crowe, Alexandra Giandomenico, Paul Giandomenico Jr., Nena Giandomenico, Nicholas Crowe, and Ariana Giandomenico and great grandfather of Brody and Lyra Dustin. Beloved brother of the late Tony and Lawrence Tempesta, Ann Pasquale, Marilyn Ordway, and Geraldine Fantasia. He is also the uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Due to the current restrictions with Covid-19, services for Daniel will be held privately with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
