David M. Ferris

David M. Ferris, of Reading, passed away on Sunday July 29, 2018. He was 72 years of age

Born in Medford, David was the loving son of the late Francis W. Ferris and Doris M. (Avey) Ferris.

David proudly served our Country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He then worked at the Post Office in Reading as a letter carrier for many years.

David loved all sports, especially the Red Sox and Patriots. He particularly enjoyed watching his favorite teams with his grandchildren. He was devoted to his family and was a very funny guy. He loved his cat Gus. He will be missed by all who knew him.

David was the beloved husband of the late Mary Ann (Panay) Ferris. He was the loving father of Lisa Jean Guild and her husband Brian, and David M. Ferris Jr. He was the devoted grandfather of James, Christian and Ella Guild. Dear brother of Francis W. Ferris Jr., Robert J. Ferris, Joanne M. Dyson, Dorothy A. Ferris, Arlene T. Cronin and Richard C. Ferris. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Doherty Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING Friday August 3, 2018 at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating David's Eternal Life in St. Agnes Church 186 Woburn St. Reading at 10am. Interment with Military Honors will be at Woodend Cemetery, Reading.

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family on Thursday August 2, 2018 from 4pm to 8pm in the funeral home. Parking attendants will be available.
