David Allen Gould (65), formerly of Reading, Lowell, and Billerica Massachusetts - until he retired to Central Florida with his wife and daughter in July 2020 - died unexpectedly on July 31, 2023.
David was born to James Earl (Earl) and Ruth Marion (Marion) Gould née Bennett on February 9, 1958 in Melrose, Massachusetts. In his youth, David worked in the Laundry room at Green Grove Nursing Home in North Reading, Mass. He also worked as a retail associate for both CVS Pharmacy and for Zayre Corporation (which later became Ames Department Store). In March of 1986 David began a 34-year career of federal service as a Quality Assurance Specialist with the Department of Defense stationed at various Raytheon plants in Massachusetts - first in Lowell, later in Sudbury, and at the end of his career, in Andover.
David enjoyed many activities and hobbies including street hockey, roller skating (where he met his wife), softball, chess, golf, Texas Hold'em poker as well as other card games, and was an avid collector of action figures and metal figurines. He was a dedicated sports fan of all of the Boston teams, but especially of the Boston Bruins and their retired player, Bobby Orr.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 38 years, Deborah (Debbi) Gould née Scott of Winter Haven, FL, his much-loved daughter Krystal Gould, also of Winter Haven, FL, his dear sister Joyce Gould of Reading, his beloved aunt Lois Bennett of North Reading, his sister-in-law Valerie Gould née Haesebrouck of North Billerica, and numerous much-loved cousins, nephews, and nieces. He is preceded in death by his mother Ruth Marion (Marion) Gould, his father James Earl (Earl) Gould, two aunts: Marion Gould née Maher and Dottie Rushforth née Gould, four uncles: Donald Gould, Burt Gould, Charles (Avery) Bennett, and John Gould, his brother, James (Jimmy) E. Gould, Jr., a nephew, Bruce A. Rushforth, Jr., and a cousin, Steven Gould.
David's family will host a Memorial Worship Service at the First Baptist Church of Reading, 45 Woburn Street, Reading, Mass 01867 on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. A private committal service for the family will be held following the Memorial Worship Service.
