David A. Loughran

December 30, 1961 — June 7, 2021

David A. Loughran of Stoneham passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021 after fighting a 13 year long battle with brain cancer. He was 59 years of age.

Born on December 30, 1961, in Lowell, David is the loving son of James Loughran and Ann (Waterworth) Loughran. David is a warm, kind and caring son, brother, husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed.

Dave had a love for drawing. He attended Lowell Vocational Technical High School where he received a gold medal in Skills USA VICA Competition. During his years, he also attended Wentworth Institution where he earned many certifications in the field for building inspector. He joined the New England Carpenters Union, Local 33 and remained with them for over 30 years. Throughout his life starting out as a carpenter, he became a project manager working in various areas throughout Massachusetts. Dave knew and wanted nothing else as he loved what he did, and he was good at it.

Growing up, Dave had a special place in his heart for Wells, Maine where he spent every summer with his family at Sea Vu Campground. He loved the beach, fishing, looking for sand dollars and even worked odd jobs while there.

Dave had a passionate love for the Patriots. If you weren't a fan, you weren't allowed to watch the game with him. He never missed a game and always had a bud light in hand to cheer them on.

Family was everything to him and if you weren't family, he treated you like you were. He loved the holidays, especially Christmas. Cooking and decorating for all and any holidays and events including outside for all seasons. He loved cooking on the grill and gardening and just hanging out in his yard with his dog Maggie. He loved talking to the neighbors, yard sales, camping, building and Dunkin ice coffee. He would do anything for anyone. He was always right there to lend a hand. Dave had many alias names throughout his life, such as Big Dave, Big D, Dangerous Dave, Deck A Day Dave, Neighbor Dave and Davey. He had touched so many lives and was loved by all who knew him, (his personality was contagious). He was dedicated, loving, kind, caring, courageous, brave and all-around happy guy, whom when being around, made you happy too.

David is the beloved husband of Kimberly (Ranney) Loughran. He is the devoted father of Krystal Loughran Ransom and her husband Steve, David Loughran Jr. and Owen Loughran and his fiancé Cara Berrini. The caring stepfather of Nicole Monclova and her husband Joseph, Patricia Synnott and Alison Simboli, David is the cherished grandfather of Cassidy Loughran, Mason Berrini, Lillian Ransom, Emma Ransom, Aria Berrini and Neena Monclova. He is the dear brother of Father James Loughran, SA, Tina Carpenito and her husband Albert, Michael Loughran and his wife Ida and Kathleen O'Connell and her husband James. He is the beloved brother-in-law of Joseph and Stacey Briffett, Scott Ranney and his fiancé Brooke Burns. David is the loving son in law of Constance Ranney and the late George Ranney. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.
