Diane Marie (DelRossi) Bourque, 77, of Burlington, MA passed away on Friday, May 15th, 2026, at Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading, MA after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
Diane was born on April 12, 1949, in Winchester, MA to Tony and Barbara DelRossi.
Diane attended Wilmington schools and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1967.
Diane opened her heart and her home to family and friends and welcomed them when they needed a place to stay. She was very generous. She enjoyed making quilts, sewing, crafts, reading books, and writing. She was an advocate for the deaf.
Diane was the beloved wife of Donald Bourque for 27 years. They lived in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Florida, and Maine. Their most recent home was in Sanford, Maine. They loved spending time with family and friends. Diane and Don enjoyed camping and traveling. They enjoyed meeting people and making new friends. They loved dogs and rescued many over the years. Don was the love of Diane's life.
Diane was predeceased by her parents, Antonio "Tony" DelRossi, and Barbara (Henderson) DelRossi. She was also predeceased by her husband of 27 years, Donald Bourque. She was also predeceased by her precious niece, Kayla Kenney, at the age of five.
Diane is survived by her loving daughter Sheri (Lucchini) Assad of Woburn, MA, and her loving son Craig Lucchini of Methuen, MA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Alexis Lucchini, Ava Assad, Jacob Lucchini, and Isabella Lucchini. She was also "surrogate mother" to Sam Padilla, of Fall River, MA.
Diane also leaves behind three stepsons, Joseph and his wife Erin Bourque of Lebanon, Maine, Scott and his wife Amy Bourque of Wells, Maine, and Brian and his wife Alyssa Bourque of Wells, Maine. She also leaves behind many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. They have been a blessing to her.
Diane is also survived by her three sisters, Karen DelRossi, Wendy (DelRossi) Mullen and her husband Dan Mullen, and Donna (DelRossi) Kenney and her husband Dan "Barney" Kenney, all of Woburn, MA. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
For the past year, Diane lived at Atria Longmeadow Place in Burlington, MA with her two small dogs, Sophie and Luna. Diane enjoyed being at Atria and making new friends. Diane's outgoing personality, along with Sophie and Luna, brought so much joy and companionship to many 'seniors' and staff members. They are all going to miss her.
We are very thankful to the Sawtelle Family Hospice staff for the loving, tender care they gave to Diane and her family during the last three weeks of her life. We will be forever grateful.
Her memorial service will be held on Friday, June 12th, from 9am – 12pm, with eulogies at 12pm, at the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden Street READING. Parking attendants and elevator are available.
A reception will be held immediately following from 1pm – 4pm at The Charles @ Bunratty’s Tavern located at 614 Main Street Reading, Massachusetts.
