Diane (Covino) FitzGerald of Reading passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at her home. She was 69 years of age. Diane had battled cancer since 1993.





Born in Medford, Diane was the loving daughter of the late Salvatore and Philomena Covino. Diane was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, neighbor and friend. She will be sadly missed.





Diane was a dedicated Legal Secretary for many years. Her true love was for her family. She adored and cherished her grandchildren. Her favorite thing to do was making memories with her family. They were first and foremost in her life. Diane devoted her life to motherhood and grand parenting.





Diane was the beloved wife for 50 years of Robert FitzGerald. She was the devoted mother of Laura Pica and her husband James of Beverly. Diane was the cherished grandmother of Eric and Elizabeth. Diane was the dear sister of Eleanor Palumbo of Stoneham and the late Louis Covino. She was also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.





Funeral from the Joseph Doherty-Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING Saturday at 10am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Diane's life in St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St. Reading at 11am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours, Friday 4-8pm. Parking attendants will be available. Interment Wood End Cemetery, Reading.
