Diane M. (Carlino) Fowler, of Wakefield, formerly of Stoneham, passed away peacefully on Sunday June 25th, 2023.
Diane is the beloved wife of Steven Fowler. She is the devoted mother of Michael Fowler and his wife Sonya and Mark Fowler and his wife Kasey. Loving grandmother of Elsie, Wes, Monty and John. Dear sister of Donna Carlino and her husband Bill, Denyse Creesy and her husband Bob, Anthony Carlino and his wife Jean and the late John Carlino. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Born April 23, 1955 to Anthony and Janet Carlino, Diane grew up in Stoneham, Mass, where she was the second oldest of five, and where she met her life-long friends of 58 years Rose Bille and Marilyn Peeters. Diane graduated with the Stoneham High School Class of 1973 and worked for First National and Stop ‘n Shop companies for over 30 years. It was during a routine Coca-Cola delivery to her store that Diane met the love of her life, Steven Fowler. They married in September 1983 and moved to Wakefield, Mass., where they started their own family, welcoming Michael in June 1985 and Mark in July 1986.
Diane cherished being a mother, cheering on her sons throughout their lives, and being a constant presence of support and care. Besides her family, her joys were her friends, being a sister and aunt, her cruiseline adventures, the wildlife around her home, crocheting, playing tennis, and tending to her vegetable garden. She was a big fan of Engelbert Humperdink, seeing him in concert many times. Diane retired from work in 2020 to spend time doing the things she loved most: traveling with her husband and doting on Elsie, Wes, Monty, and John as their loving Grammy. Diane is loved and missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with her family on Wednesday July 5th, 2023 from 8 am to 9:30 am in the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Diane's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10 am.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in memory of Diane to Safe Tails Animal Rescue League P.O. Box 136 Merrimac MA 01860 https://www.safetails.org/index.html.
