Donald J. Littlefield, of Stoneham, passed away peacefully on Sunday August 14th, 2022 at his home with his family by his side. He was 80 years of age.
Born in Malden, Donald is the son of the late Benjamin and Gertrude (Foley) Littlefield. A graduate of Malden High School graduating in 1961. He then attended Newbury Junior College and Boston State College. Don honorably served in the United States Air Force for the 389th Strategic Missile Wing at Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming for 8 years. He married Margaret M. "Peggy" Paquette on November 25, 1967 in St. Joseph Church in Wakefield.
Don worked for TRW from 1969 until he retired in 2008 as a facilities engineer in Cambridge and later Westminster. He was also the familiar, friendly and helpful face at Rounds Hardware in Stoneham where he worked part time since 1980 retiring in 2019.
He loved things with engines but had a passion for cars and trucks built by Ford as well as Harley motorcycles. He also followed with great interest all the Nascar races.
Don is the beloved husband of the late Margaret M. "Peggy" (Paquette) Littlefield. He is the cherished father of Mark Littlefield, Kevin Littlefield and his wife Lisa and daughter Joelle Littlefield. Don is the loving grandfather of Cynthia Cameron and her husband Michael, Marc Littlefield and his wife Melissa Kennedy, Courtney Agresto and her husband Michael and Matthew Littlefield, step grandchildren Julia, Joshua and Jenna Bruedle Great grandfather of Jacob, Shayne and Adelaide. Dear brother of Walter “Butchie” Littlefield and his wife June and the late Barbara Foley. Brother in law of Robert Paquette and his wife Betsy, Denise Gage and her husband Ronald and the late Frank "Sonny" Paquette and his surviving wife Cathy and his "little buddy" Lorenzo DesRochers. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and his loving pets.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM Friday August 19, 2022 at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Donald's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family on Thursday August 18th, 2022 from 4 pm to 7 pm in the funeral home. Parking attendants and elevator available.
