Donna M. (Dupont) Jewell of Malden passed away suddenly after a brave battle with cancer on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the age of 64.
Born on May 27, 1950 in Malden, Donna was the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Dupont. Donna was a warm and caring mother, grandmother, sister, niece, friend and teacher. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Born and raised in Malden, Donna was a dedicated para professional in the Malden Public School system. She whole heartedly believed in the power of public education and spent countless hours and summers working with students in an effort to instill a love of learning and boost confidence levels in the students and classrooms in which she worked. The public school system was close to her heart as she and both of her sons are products of the local school system. Outside of the class room Donna was dearly devoted to her family. She enjoyed many family trips to the lakes region of NH and traveling to Rhode Island to visit her brother and sister-in-law. On any warm summer day she could be found in her yard tending to the garden and spending time with her grandchildren by the family swimming pool. In the evening she would often unwind with a cup of tea and would settle down in front of the television to enjoy her favorite television shows, "Seinfeld" and "The Big Bang Theory".
Donna was the devoted mother of Sean M. Cottam and his wife Michele and Kevin C. Cottam. She was the cherished grandmother of Kyle Cottam and Brendan Cottam. Donna was the dear sister of Carl Dupont and his wife Andrea and the late Douglas Dupont. She was the loving niece of Beverly Ames. Donna is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the Family on Monday, January 12, 2015 from 4-8pm in the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT 28), STONEHAM. Parking attendants and elevator are available.
