Doris Jean (Colantuoni) DiFronzo of Stoneham passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 7, 2017 in her home, the place she loved most. She was 85 years of age.
Born on May 3, 1931 in Malden, Doris was the loving daughter of the late Luigi Colantuoni and Camilla (Bello) Colantuoni. She was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. A student at Radcliffe College, Doris possessed a keen and curious mind and was a life-long lover of learning. In her professional life, she was an employee of the Stoneham Public Schools and the Wakefield Municipal Light Department. She loved movies, spending time with family and friends, and was a long-time volunteer at the Stoneham Theater. An Italophile, she made many trips to Italy, a place she loved dearly, and was blessed to enjoy memorable visits with her relatives there. She was a passionate and talented painter who was gratified to see her art exhibited in the community. Doris will be missed by all who knew her.
Doris was the beloved wife of the late Ralph L. DiFronzo. She was the devoted mother of Nancy L. DiFronzo, Ralph C. DiFronzo and the late Paul C. DiFronzo. She was the proud grandmother of Marisa R. DiFronzo and the dear sister of the late Elmer Colantuoni.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Saturday, January 14th at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Doris' Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the Family on Friday, January 13th from 4-8pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and elevator are available. Interment Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
