Dorothea Palma (Clivio) Mayo, formerly of Stoneham, died February 19 at the age of 98 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Edward R. Mayo, Sr. and devoted mother of Anita Vallee and her husband Paul, Darlene Jimenez and her husband Dr. Robert, Maria Cover and her husband Clay, Paul, Thomas and his wife Diane, Robert and his wife Deborah, and the late Corporal Edward R. Mayo, Jr. She was the beloved grandmother of 22, great-grandmother of 21, and great-great grandmother of one. She was also a loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She was the last of seven siblings born to Anna and Nicola Clivio.
Dorothea was known by friends and family for her warmth, generosity and kindness to all. Her large and extended family gatherings centered around her wonderful Italian meals. She was a devoted Catholic, attending mass up until her passing.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Dorothea's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 9am.
