Dorothy A. (McAllister) Fitzgerald

Dorothy A. (McAllister) Fitzgerald, of Stoneham, formerly of Somerville, passed away peacefully on Thursday September 21st, 2023. She was 79 years of age.

Dolly attended and graduated from St. Clement’s in Somerville. She briefly worked for New England Telephone but spent most of her career as an Administrator for the Little Sisters of the Poor in Somerville. She was a strong, selfless caretaker for her family and friends. Dolly was a great lover of animals and dogs in particular.

Dorothy is the beloved wife of the late Joseph Fitzgerald. She is the loving daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Naughton) McAllister. She is the dear sister of the late Catherine "Theresa" Monroe, Marie Browne, Patricia Campobasso, Elizabeth Murphy, Joseph "Thomas" McAllister and Maureen Ryan. She is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

She leaves behind her loveable little Chewy in the loving care of Joan, Lynn and Danny Fitzgerald.She also leaves behind her very best friend, Mary Segalla. They were devoted friends for many years and supported each other through thick and thin.

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family on Wednesday September 27th, 2023 from 8:30 am to 9:30 am in the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Dorothy's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10 am. Interment Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
