Dorothy J. Hildreth

April 1, 1926 — January 29, 2009

Dorothy J. (Doucette) Hildreth of Reading, passed away on January 29, 2009 at Winchester Hospital. She was 82 years of age.



Born in Woburn, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Frances (Surrette) Doucette and Clarence Doucette. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be missed by all.



Dorothy was an avid fan of the Red Sox, Notre Dame Football, Bruins and Reading High School Football. She was a representative for Avon since 1969. Dorothy was a member of Saint Athanasius Church since it opened. She loved cats and dogs. Dorothy loved to play the organ. She loved Disney World and her trips to New Hampshire.



Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Hildreth. She was the loving mother of Thomas P. and his wife Marian of Wakefield, Joseph M. and his wife Robin of Burlington, Judith A., John W. and his wife Judy all of Reading, Carol T. LaFortune and her husband Ron of Woburn and Timothy J. Hildreth and his wife Darcy of Reading. She was the cherished grandmother of Cheri, Stephanie, Jennifer, John, Emily, Stephen, Brendon and Sarah. Great Grandmother of Evan, Aiden, Lauren, Abigail, Madison and Brayden. Dorothy was the dear sister of Jeanne Meuse and Virginia DeGregorio both of Wilmington, Carol Hanke and her husband Paul of Tewksbury and the late Thomas Doucette, Paul Doucette and his surviving wife Marian. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.



Funeral from the Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING Monday at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Dorothy's life in St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St. Reading at 10 am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the family on Sunday from 3-7 pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot on Linden St. Interment Woodend Cemetery, Reading.
