Dorothy A. (Freeman) McHugh

Dorothy Anne McHugh of Reading passed away unexpectedly on June 6, 2015 at the age of 82. She was the beloved wife of 60 years of Lawrence F. McHugh and the loving mother of Kathleen McHugh Tucker and her husband Carlton of Bristol RI, Lawrence F. McHugh III and his wife Lee of North Chelmsford, Robert McHugh and his wife Karen of Telluride, CO, Shaun McHugh and his wife Elizabeth of Albuquerque, NM, Patricia McHugh of Alexandria, VA and Brian McHugh and his wife Kathleen of Clayton, MO. She is also survived by her six grandchildren - Michael and Caitlin Tucker and Devon, Kelly, Elizabeth and Leeanne McHugh. She was the sister of Janice Walsh of Cambridge and the late Frederick Freeman and Diana Shelton.

Dotty worked as a bookkeeper for Mark Lawrence Photographers for over 30 years. She was an election worker for the Town of Reading for 26 years. Dotty also was a volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels for 15 years, worked as a volunteer at Winchester Hospital and was actively involved in the Prospect Street School, the Woburn Street School, the Cub Scouts and the Camp Fire Girls.

Funeral from the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING Wednesday, June 10th at 10:30am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30am in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St. Reading. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to meet with her family on Tuesday, June 9th from 4-8pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and ramped entrance available.
