Dorothy E. Shuttleworth

Dorothy E. (Jelley) Shuttleworth of Peabody, formerly of Stoneham passed away peacefully on her 87th birthday, February 21, 2010.





Born in Medford, Dorothy was the loving daughter of the late William J. Jelley and Elsie (Hannington) Jelley. Dorothy was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be sadly missed.





Dorothy was a devoted homemaker. She was dedicated to her family. They were first and foremost in her life. Dorothy was a lifelong member of All Saints Episcopal Church where she was active in all church affairs. She also participated in several local bridge clubs.





Dorothy was the beloved wife of James A. Shuttleworth. She was the devoted mother of Joan Grady and her husband Jack of Wilmington, Ann Whittaker and her husband Doug of California, Caryl Haley and her husband Tom of Groveland. Dorothy was the cherished grandmother of John and James Marshall, Jennifer Adams, Jacqueline Grady, Joshua Haley. She was the loving great grandmother of 5 and the dear sister of Marylin Worthen of Reading, formerly of Stoneham. Dorothy was the caring aunt of Richard Worthen, Donna Kafel.





A Funeral Service celebrating Dorothy's life will be held on Friday at 11am in All Saints Episcopal Church, 79 Central St. Stoneham. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Thursday from 4-8pm in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM. Parking attendants will be available.
