Duncan S. Mackenzie

November 11, 1916 — February 25, 2006

Duncan S. MacKenzie in his ninetieth year passed peacefully in the arms of his family at Winchester Hospital on February 25, 2006. Born in Cambridge, he was the son of Duncan MacKenzie and Carrie (Campbell) MacKenzie.

Duncan, reunited eternally with Susan, his soulmate of 72 years, and devoted wife of 63 years. He most honored home and dear ones, spent his time with his daughters, sons-in-law, grand and great-grandchildren, knowing that home is wherever love lives. Steadfast provider, after "retirement" from 44 years of sales at Tip Top Baking Co., he cheerfully opened family stores. Many will remember Duncan, the cute smiling man who brought the donuts for 4 years at White Hen Pantry in Malden, and then for another 14 at Convenience Food Mart, Prospect St., Wakefield.

Man of humor, gardener and tinkering of tools, enthusiast of motorcycles and automotives, Duncan maintained his pristine 1987 Oldsmobile and preserved his heirloom dahlias. His most recent favorite activities were reading the daily papers, watching the Judges on TV, fully enjoying homemade pies, cakes, and Oreos cookies with milk.

Duncan, a positive force, the fixer and maintainer of his family's universe, will ever remain a source of inspiration to all.
