Edith Caroline (Ryan) Salari

It's with heavy hearts that we announce the passing or our dear mother, Edith Caroline (Ryan)Salari, 88, of Medford, Massachusettes.  Mom passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 2, 2024, at Aberjona Nursing Home, Winchester, MA.

Edith (Carol) was born on March 04, 1935, in Boston, MA, and resided in Allston.  She was the daughter of the late William Ryan and Gladys (Penney) Olsen. She is forever remembered by her loving brother, William Ryan and his wife Kathryn Ryan, and predeceased by her sister Sheila Sweeney and her husband Brian Sweeney. 

Edith is survived by her loving husband William (Willie) J. Salari of 25 years. They shared a wonderful life together traveling, dining at the finest restaurants, and enjoying their family. She was preceded in death by her former husband Thomas J. Quinn. She is survived by her children, Karen Pappa, Thomas J. Quinn, Jean McGee and husband James McGee, Mary Newell, and Maureen Pappa (deceased) and her husband Thomas Pappa.   She was a loving grandmother to Thomas Pappa and wife Alyssa, Matt Pappa, William Newell (deceased) and his wife Erica, Ryan Newell (deceased), Michelle Newell and partner Joseph Williams, Jr., Daniel Newell & partner Abbi Whiting, Katarina Quinn, Jillian Quinn and fiance Andrew Medeiros, Derek Shaw and his wife Kate. Great grandmother to William Jr. & Brooke Newell, Rylee Newell, Ryan & Joseph Pappa, Joseph Williams III, and Addison Shaw.  She was the aunt to numerous nieces & nephews.  She leaves behind her best friend of over 80 years Lorraine Kershaw & long-time friend Gail MacMillan.

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Edith's Family on Friday, February 9th from 8:30am - 9:30am in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street (RT 28) STONEHAM.  Parking attendants and elevator are available.

A Funeral Mass Celebrating Edith's Eternal Life will be held on Friday, February 9th at 10am in Saint Patrick Church, 71 Central Street, STONEHAM.
