Costanza
August 24, 1941 – December 6, 2024
Edmond L. Costanza, 83, of Lynnfield passed away peacefully on December 6, 2024.
The son of the late Carl & Yolanda Costanza of Revere. Brother of the Late Carl Costanza & his late wife Lorraine, the late Adrian Costanza & his wife Barbara. Loving husband of Grace (Greer) Costanza. Loving father of Guy Costanza & the late Joseph Costanza. Loving Step-father of Lisa and her husband Ted Geiselman, Craig and his wife Jeanine Coggswell, Karen Greenstein. Adored Grandfather of Yolanda, Carolyn & Julya... Sarah, Emily & Zach... Ryan & Hannah... Brandon & Dylan. Cherished uncle of Craig Costanza, Caren D'Agnese, Lorrie D'Alelio & Lianne Stati.
Raised in Revere, MA. Worked as a youth in his Father & Uncle's family business "Costanza Pharmacy" on Revere St. in Revere. Graduated from Revere High School in 1958, Attended college for a few years before joining the United States Marines in the early 1960's. He then worked a couple jobs before entering into the world of becoming a Certified Dental Technician, working first as an employee, which led to him opening his own dental lab called "Colonial Dental Lab For Prosthetic Dentistry". He owned and operated his lab for approx 60 years. Employing many friends & colleagues throughout the years, forging lifelong relationships with his employees, dentists, other local labs, suppliers & vendors, etc. While working at his already established & successful business & raising his family, Ed went back to school to finish his college degree. Shortly afterwards he became a teacher for the first dental lab technology course at Middlesex Community College for many years. He was dedicated to his work and was well regarded in his industry, serving twice as President of the NADL (National Association of Dental Laboratories), and remained very involved throughout the years with industry conferences & continuing education, etc. Ed was still working at his lab until the final year of his life. Retirement was not in his vocabulary, as he thrived knowing he was continuing his craft. Ed loved his family more than anything. Making time for them, vacationing at the family time share at Mittersill Resort in Franconia, NH for many fun years. Also enjoying family dinners and gatherings often, with a great sense of humor to make every event enjoyable, etc. He played softball for many years bringing his family along to enjoy watching him pitch, and even managed his own team for a few years before moving on from the sport that he loved. He loved music & playing piano in his spare time for family & friends. Giving his rendition of "Alley Cat" amongst other classics. He also loved to work outside in the yard & inside the house taking on many challenging projects such as building walkways, stone walls, carpentry/remodeling projects, building porches, sheds, cutting & splitting firewood, and of course taking on heavy duty landscape projects with his trusty tractor, among many other projects that often included his kids by his side. He treasured his many lifelong friendships, along with friends he made along the way and in recent years. Whether it was business, family or friends, to know him was to love him, as he was always there for those that needed him, willing to lend an ear or help out in any way he could. He always put others ahead of himself and was happiest if he helped make others happy. He was trustworthy and could always be relied upon. Always doing his best to never let anyone down. He was our rock.
His High School yearbook said it best... Edmond "Eddie" Costanza, Intelligent--reserved but well worth knowing--has more power in his silence than in his words--sure to succeed.
