Edna (Bentsen) Sandstrom

Edna (Bentsen) Sandstrom of Reading, formerly of Beverly, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on February 16, 2023 at the age of 91.  Beloved wife of Karl.  Loving and proud mother to Scott Sandstrom and his wife Ellen, Ruth Brophy and her husband Larry, and Linda Simard and her husband Kevin.  Adoring grandmother to Jennifer, Kerrie, Michael, Kristen, Amanda, Ryan and Kyle; loving great-grandmother to Owen, Christopher, Matthew and James.

Edna grew up the child of Norwegian immigrants in Brooklyn, New York, where she played stick ball and marbles in the neighborhood.  Later, she moved to New Jersey to build and nurture her family.  She found tremendous joy in the little things in life, such as spending time with her family, painting seascapes, collecting antiques and singing to ABBA in the car.  She was a beautiful soul with a deep capacity for love and an enduring wisdom.   She will be missed every day.
