Broughton, Edward L. "Ed"- of North Reading, Sept. 1. Beloved husband of Louise (Schiavone). Father of the late Derek Broughton.  Grandfather of Katherine, Rebecca, Nathan, Diana and Michael. Ed is also survived by many close friends including Lisa and her husband Chris, Kay and her husband Tony and other family.Ed's funeral will begin from the Funeral Home on Wednesday Sept. 9th at 9:30am. His funeral Mass will be held in St. Theresa's Church, 63 Winter St.(Rte. 62), North Reading at 10:30am. Relative and friends may visit at the Funeral Home on Tuesday 4-8pm. His burial with mililtary honors will be held in Riverside Cemetery, North Reading. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ed's name to the North Reading Dollars for Scholars, PO Box 529, North Reading, MA 01864-0519. Ed was a member of the North Reading council on Aging, Medford Knights of Columbus, and an avid flyer and served his country in the US Air Force.
