Edward W. Caswell, Jr. of Stoneham, January 25, 2009 at age 69.
Beloved husband of Patricia A. (DeRosa) Caswell for over 51 years. Devoted father of Kathleen Purington and her husband Allan, Karen Caswell, Michael Caswell all of Stoneham and the late Patrick Caswell. Cherished grandfather of P. Jamon Caswell, Jillian Melly, Jarrod Caswell, Jessica, Alyssa, Krissta, Tessa Purington, Michael A., Alex, Kelsie, Eric Caswell and the late Craig Caswell. Great grandfather of nine. Dear brother of Ruthann Pitts of NH and the late Lucy Farr. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
E.W. Caswell, the Beacon Hill and Greater Boston area firewood man since 1957 who sold quality seasoned New Hampshire hardwood, who delivered his goods no matter what the weather. His passions in life were his family, his wood business and his customers. He found a lifelong friend in each and every one of them. He had over 4,000 customers as well as well-known restaurants and hotels in Boston.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Thursday at 10 am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Edward's life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 11 am. Visiting hours Wednesday 2-8 pm. Interment Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham. Please honor Edward with donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
