Edward (Ted) Janus

Edward "Ted" Janus, 97, of Burlington, formerly of Wallingford, CT, and Boca Raton, FL, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2026, after a brief illness, with his family by his side. 

Ted was the devoted husband of the late Evelyn (Levinson) and cherished companion of the late Rita Pendergast. He leaves behind a loving legacy in his children, Edward Janus and his wife Debbie, Susan Coughlin and her husband Kevin, and the late Kristy Janus. Ted was a proud grandfather to Shelbie Atwater and her husband Jay, Daniel Janus and his wife Gillian, Corey Janus and her husband Keith, Ryan Coughlin and his wife Samantha, and Zachary Coughlin and his wife Stephanie. His joy extended to his great-grandchildren Colby and Carson Janus, Cooper and Cameron Janus, Jacob and Benjamin Coughlin and Tori Coughlin.

A brother to the late Donald Janus and Barbara Peck, Ted is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Ted's journey began in Wallingford, CT. After graduating from UCONN, he pursued a successful career as an industrial engineer at General Motors, retiring in 1986. A passionate golfer, Ted was a longtime member of the Wallingford Country Club before moving to Boca Raton and played well into his 90s. Relocating to Burlington in 2022 brought him closer to his family, whom he joyfully watched grow and succeed.
