Colonel Edward Charles Wright, of Reading, passed away on Thursday December 13, 2007 at his home. He was 78 years of age.





Born in Reading he was the son of the late Albert and Catherine (Bradley) Wright. Col. Wright was a member of St. Agnes Church, a Veteran of the US Army Korean War, a graduate of Reading High School and Merrimack College. He was a proud member of the Reading Knights of Columbus Council 1031 where he proudly served two terms as the Grand Knight. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.





He served in his hometown of Reading on the Board of Public Works, as a Town Meeting Member and chaired to re-open the Mineral Street Bridge and was Chairman of the Mudville Memorial Committee.





Edward was the beloved husband of Beverly (Ellis) Wright. He was the loving father of Patricia Etchings and her late husband Ted, Ann Descoteaux and her husband David, Ellen Mich and her husband James, and Matthew Wright and his wife Marijane. Cherished grandfather of Kristen and Megan Etchings, Mark, Michael, and James Descoteaux, Tyler, Jake and Nicole Mich, and Brogan and Liam Wright. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.





Funeral from the Joseph Doherty Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING Tuesday at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Edwards's Life in St. Agnes Church 186 Woburn St. Reading at 9am.





Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours Monday 2-4, & 7-9pm. Parking attendants will be available. Interment Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
