Her husband Herbert passed away on September 19, 1966. Shortly thereafter, she worked as a bookkeeper at State Street Bank in Boston until her retirement in 1975.

She moved to Stoneham in 1979, where she lived until recently this year with her son, Peter. Her sister Mary passed away many years ago and all of her brothers are now also deceased.
