Eleanor M. Stephenson

Eleanor M. (Devoe) Stephenson of Burlington passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at Wilmington Health Care Center in Wilmington. She was 88 years of age.
Born in Somerville, Eleanor was the cherished daughter of the late Simon Chester Devoe and Christina (Morrison) Devoe. Eleanor was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, aunt and friend. She will be sorely missed.
Eleanor was a dedicated clerk for the Division of Motor Vehicles for many years. She was a very quiet woman who lived a quiet life. Eleanor enjoyed the holidays and loved cooking. She was a devoted member of the Jolly Elders Club. She donated homemade sweaters and mittens to babies the she herself knitted. Eleanor was a dedicated volunteer to her church.
Eleanor was the beloved wife of the late Francis Stephenson. She was the dear aunt of Susan McLean of Stoneham, Robert Devoe, Marcia Filamond, Jean Marie Devoe, Richard, David, Stephen and Donald Devoe, Margaret Rose Newell and Paul Devoe. Eleanor was the devoted sister of Walter Devoe.
A Funeral Service celebrating Eleanor's life will be held on Saturday at 11am in the Chapel of the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours prior to the Service from 9-11am. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
