Elizabeth N. Miles

November 10, 1921 — February 21, 2011

Elizabeth "Bettie" (Nestor) Miles, of Reading and Centerville, passed away on Monday February 21, 2011 at Woodbriar Nursing Home in Wilmington.





Bettie was a resident of Reading and Centerville for many years. She had at B.S. in special education from Salem State Teachers College, a Masters Degree in Reading/Speech and Hearing Therapy and a C.A.G.S. Speech Pathology all from Boston University.





As a professional, Bettie was an elementary classroom teacher, a speech and hearing therapist, a supervisor, Title I LEAP, and a language education program in Medford public schools.





Bettie's special interests were painting as well as being a member of the Reading Garden Club, the Reading Art Association. She was also a member of Bear Hill Golf Club in Stoneham, as well as a world traveler. Most importantly she loved Cape Cod and its beaches.





Bettie was the beloved wife of the late Robert Miles. She was the mother of Lisa Miles McNamara and her husband Frank. Cherished grandmother of Carolyn, William (Billy) and Michael McNamara. She was the daughter of the late Agnes (Donovan) and James Nestor. Sister of the late Mary (Dimond ) and James Nestor. Loving aunt of Nancy Dimond Maciel, Patricia Dimond Gowdy, Diane Dimond Leblanc, Stephen Dimond and predeceased by Maryanne Dimond and Elizabeth Dimond. Sister-in-law of Marie (Miles) Beckett.







Funeral from the Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING Friday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Bettie's Eternal Life in St. Agnes Church 186 Woburn Street, Reading at 10am.





Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family Thursday from 4-7pm in the Funeral Home. Interment Beachwood Cemetery, Centerville.
