Elvira (Tortola) Cutone of Stoneham, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2007 at Winchester Hospital. She was 92 years of age.
Born in the Miranda Province of Isernia, Italy, Elvira was the loving daughter of the late Salvatore Tortola and Teresa (Fasano) Tortola. Elvira was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be sadly missed.
Elvira was a strong woman who worked hard all of her life. She survived World War II in Italy, coming to The United States on September 24, 1967. She was devoted to raising her family. They were first and foremost in her life. Elvira's love for her family went unparalleled.
Elvira was the beloved wife for 70 years of the late Salvatore Cutone. She was the devoted mother of Anthony Cutone of Brighton, Bianca DiStefano of Malden, Carmela Zullo, Joseph Cutone and Angela DiStefano, all of Stoneham. Elvira was the cherished grandmother of 14 and great grandmother of 6. She came from a family of 6 sisters and 1 brother.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Friday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Elvira's life in St. Patrick's Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours, Thursday 4-9pm. Parking attendants will be on duty. Entombment Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
