Elvira T. (Pierro) "Vera" Giangrasso

Elvira T. (Pierro) "Vera" Giangrasso of Wakefield, formerly of Reading passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 14th, 2018 at Woburn Nursing Center. She was 96 years of age.

Born on February 15, 1921 in Boston, Vera is the loving daughter of the late Carmine Pierro and Elena (Ragozzino) Pierro. Vera is a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed.

Vera was a dedicated mother and grandmother. Her family was first and foremost in her life. She cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, and especially her great grandchildren.

Vera is the beloved wife of the late Giacomo Giangrasso. She is the devoted mother of Josephine Saija. The cherished grandmother of Stephanie Mitchell and her husband Jeffrey, Joseph Saija and his wife Laurie, Vera is the doting great grandmother of Amanda, Ashley, Cameron, Zachary, Joshua and the late Jack. She is the dear sister of Marie Esposito and her late husband Thomas and the late Angelo, Albert and Arthur Pierro.

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the Family on Thursday, January 18th from 4-8pm in the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING. Parking attendants and ramped entrance are available.

A Funeral Service Celebrating Vera's Eternal Life will be held on Friday, January 19th at 11am in the Funeral Home. Interment Charles Lawn Memorial Park, Reading.
