Emanuele DiGrande

Emanuele DiGrande of Stoneham passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019. He is the beloved husband for 62 years of Lucia (Pesce) DiGrande. Emanuele is the devoted father of Maria Rosa (DiGrande) Forte and her husband John of Wilmington, Gaetano and his wife Allison of Wilbraham, Joselinda (DiGrande) Donovan and her husband Peter of Wakefield and Stefania (DiGrande) Brunelli of Norwood. He is the loving grandfather to his 14 grandchildren: Jennifer, Michael, Cassandra, Marie, Peter, Emanuel, Michael, Lilliana, Sofia, Joseph, Giovanni, Lucia, Gianna and Lucca. Emanuele also leaves his Great Grandchildren, Nina, Aiden, and Ivory Rae, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Emanuele was born in Augusta, Sicily on March 14, 1930. He was the sixth of seven children. Emanuele traveled to Venezuela in 1955 to join his brothers for employment. It was there that he met the love of his live, Lucia Pesce. They would travel back to Sicily and marry on October 26, 1957. They welcomed Maria Rosa on August 18, 1958, Gaetano on September 26, 1963. They would embark on an adventure in 1966 and move their young family to America. They landed in New York Harbor on February 4, 1966. They welcomed Joselinda on February 4, 1968 and Stefania on July 7, 1976. They lived in Arlington for 42 years where they raised their family. They moved to Stoneham in 2012. He enjoyed traveling. Emanuele loved packing up the station wagon and taking the family to Detroit, the Jersey Shore, Mt Washington, Apple Picking and of course "Salem Beach." He also enjoyed family dinners, barbecues with family and watching his grandchildren swim at Joselinda and Peter's pool, dining out with Maria and John, just being with his family was his joy.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St., Stoneham, on Thursday, December 19th at 9am, followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Emanuele's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Emanuele's Family Wednesday, December 18th from 4 to 8pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and elevator available. Entombment Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden. Late member of the Marninare di Italia , The Augusta Boston Club and the Carpenters Union Local 40.

In lieu of flowers Emanuele may be remembered through the Lahey Health Hospice at Home 600 Cummings Center Suite 270X Beverly, MA 01915.
