Ernest M. DeCicco

February 2, 1960 — October 13, 2020

Ernest Mark DeCicco passed away at his home in Carver, MA on October 13. Ernie was born on February 2, 1960. He was the beloved son of the late Joseph P. DeCicco and Marina Carugno DeCicco . Ernie was a 1978 graduate of Stoneham High School and of Northeast Metropolitan Vocational School. Ernie was the loving brother to his identical twin, the late Joseph A. DeCicco of and to Victoria DeCicco. Ernie was the devoted father to Jessica DeCicco and Justin DeCicco. Ernie was the very proud grandfather to Sebastian Perez. Ernie was also the proud uncle to Matthew DeCicco, Daniel Baldwin and Joseph Baldwin. Ernie also leaves his dearest friends, whom he enjoyed driving to the Cape to see every Sunday; Angela and Kenneth Sargent.

Ernie was a car enthusiast through and through. Ernie's passion was buying and restoring muscle cars. At any given time, you might find car parts all over his garage floor waiting to be put back together. He couldn't wait to eagerly show off his finished product to family and friends. Ernie could be seen driving his white 1978 Plymouth Road Runner around Stoneham, often with his beloved dog Bella sitting right beside him. Ernie loved being the grandfather to two-year old Sebastian. He enjoyed playing with and spoiling him whenever he could.

For over 30-years Ernie owned and operated Ernie's Canteen, catering homemade meals to construction sites and businesses along the 128 belt. In 2018, Ernie retired and moved to Carver, MA happy to live a life of quiet simplicity. Ernie continued to work on restoring muscle cars, spending time at Onset Beach, visiting with friends on the Cape and taking his beloved dog, Bella, for long walks and road trips across Massachusetts. Ernie was a man with a big heart, a big sense of humor and an even a bigger sweet tooth. Ernie will be greatly missed but he will never be forgotten by all who knew and loved him.
