Eva M. (Doucet) Doucette of Reading passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at her home. She was 99 years of age.
Born in Springhaven, Nova Scotia, Eva was the loving daughter of the late Frank Doucet and Eunice (Robbins) Doucet. Eva was an extremely beloved warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed.
Eva was a dedicated housekeeper for Winchester Hospital for many years before retiring. Eva was a well known resident in Reading. She was the President of the Senior Center Club for 3 years. Eva was extremely family oriented. She exemplified the true matriarch of her family. For 24 straight years, Eva's family held birthday parties for her from age 75 until 99. Eva was an avid bingo player who enjoyed knitting and watching the Red Sox.
Eva was the beloved wife of 47 years to the late Charles Henry Doucette. She was the devoted mother of Eva M. Grover and her late husband James H. of Fairfield, Maine, Charles "Bubba" Henry Doucette Jr. and his wife Nancy of Feeding Hills, Lorraine Boissoneau of San Diego, California, John T. Doucette of Fairfield, Maine, Ronald P. Doucette of Reading and the late Richard E. "Dickie" Doucette and Ruth Rubin. Eva was the special grandmother of Peter M. Doucette, the cherished grandmother of 27, great grandmother of 32 and great great grandmother of 2. She was pre-deceased by 3 brothers and 8 sisters.
Funeral from the Joseph Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING Saturday at 10am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Eva's life in St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St. Reading at 11am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours Friday 1-3 & 6-8pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot located behind Atlantic Supermarket on Haven St. Interment Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
