Evelyn V. (DeRoeck) Walsh

Evelyn V. (DeRoeck) Walsh of Stoneham passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 4, 2023.  She is 97 years of age.

Born on Sunday, August 9, 1925 in Boston, Evelyn was loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be deeply missed.

Evelyn worked a secretary for the Federal Government and for Walsh Landscaping for several years.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially summers at Pine River Pond in Wakefield, New Hampshire.  A devout Catholic, Evelyn proudly attended and volunteered at Saint Patrick Church in Stoneham.

Evelyn is the beloved wife of the late John H. Walsh.  She is the devoted mother of Thomas F. Walsh and his wife Donna, Frank M. Walsh and his wife Deborah, Marie L. Walsh Wall and her husband Michael, the late Stephen G. Walsh and his surviving wife Eileen, the late Jack V. Walsh and the late Eileen A. Walsh Ready and her late husband Richard.  The cherished grandmother of Shaun Walsh, Meghan Walsh, Michael Wall, Stephen Wall, David Wall, Eric Wall, Lisa LeGault, Danielle Edwards, Katie Walsh, Erin Ready – Newton, Elizabeth Ready and the late Ryan Walsh, Evelyn is the doting great grandmother of Alexis, Johnny, River, Kai, Skyla, Mya, Richie, Isabel, James, Aryanna, Eliana, Natalie and Colton.  She is the dear sister of the late Frank DeRoeck and his late wife Victoria.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM on Saturday, March 11^th at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Evelyn’s Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am.  Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Evelyn’s Family on Friday, March 10^th from 4-7pm in the Funeral Home.  Parking attendants and elevator are available.  Interment Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
