Fares Dababneh

December 6, 1958 — December 3, 2020

Fares Dababneh passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was 61 years of age. Fares was a kind hearted and generous man. Loving Husband of Patricia (LoConte) Dababneh, devoted father of Caroline Dababneh, beloved son of the late Fuad Dababneh and the late Rozine (Mu'asher) Dababneh, cherished brother of Farouk Dababneh and his wife Iman, Bassam Dababneh, Basem Dababneh and his wife Wijdan, and Maha (Dababneh) Dahabreh and her husband Jalal. Adored son-in-law of Rita and Gaetano LoConte, loyal brother-in-law of Guy LoConte. He also leaves future son-in-law David Tyler, many treasured aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends including best friend Salim Naber.

Fares was a proud American and an even prouder Jordanian. Born in Jerusalem and bred in his beloved Salt, Fares and his siblings made treasured memories together in their childhood home, particularly on the balcony where they shared conversation and stories, watching as their people passed by on the street below.

Fares first arrived to the United States as an aspiring student on the sunny coast of California, where he made lifelong friends and countless memories. He later headed north to New England to pursue a career in hospitality management. His quick wit, love of cooking, and charismatic smile allowed him to prosper in the field for many years prior to his retirement. While in Boston, Fares was honored to become a United States citizen.

Fares and his wife Patricia settled in Reading, Massachusetts and in 1995 welcomed their daughter Caroline, the source of his greatest pride and joy. Together as a family they enjoyed traveling throughout the country, however Fares' most poignant memories were made on Hopkins Street, Cherry Lane Drive, and in the homes of loved ones across New England and in his homeland of Jordan.

As Fares and Patricia's families merged together, they celebrated and supported each other, raised a glass to one another, laughed and cried together, and relished in the extraordinary moments of everyday life. Fortunate to be a strong and loving family, they supported each other until the very end. Fares will forever be remembered at our future gatherings and carried in our hearts throughout our lives.

The funeral mass celebrating Fares' life on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Saint Agnes Church, 186 Woburn Street, Reading, at 10:30 a.m. will be followed by an interment at Wood End Cemetery in Reading. We welcome loved ones who will not be able to attend in person to join us and pay respects via a virtual stream of the services at https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/83089731
