Florence M. (Riccardelli) Cicatelli, of Stoneham, age 86, passed away on Friday, April 20th, 2018.
Florence was born and raised in Somerville, Massachusetts. She was the devoted daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Capobianco) Riccardelli. She was the loving sister to Joseph and George Riccardelli.
Florence's parents passed away quite young, leaving her and her husband to raise her two brothers, which she did without a second thought.
Florence graduated from Somerville High School in 1950. She worked at the DiCecca Insurance Company in Somerville where she would eventually meet her husband, Martin J. Cicatelli. After a brief courtship, they married each other on May 7, 1957. They moved to Stoneham, purchased their home and raised two sons, Steven and Thomas and a daughter, Diane.
Florence was a devoted mother. She was a Den Mother to her boys' Cub Scout Troop. She volunteered in the school library, was a member of the PTA and never once missed putting a home cooked meal on the table every night. Sundays involved listening to Italian music while smelling Mom's sauce simmering on the stove.
Her husband Martin was an Attorney. He moved his practice to Stoneham and Florence was his Legal Secretary. They worked and lived together for over 48 years. Florence and Martin enjoyed spending their winters in Pompano Beach, Florida and their summers at their cottage in Dunbarton, New Hampshire.
Together they welcomed their two granddaughters, Madeline and Rebecca and their grandson Daniel. "Nana", as they would call her, loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She would attend every one of their school events as she possibly could. She loved to cook with them and teach them all of her family's Italian recipes.
She was the matriarch of the entire family and will be sincerely missed by her loving family who adored her.
Florence is the beloved wife of the late Martin J. Cicatelli. She is the devoted Mother of Steven L. Cicatelli and his husband Peter Lannan, Thomas M. Cicatelli and his wife Joanie and Diane M. LeBlanc and her husband Daniel. The cherished grandmother of Madeline, Rebecca and Daniel, Florence is the great grandmother of Isabella. Florence is the loving sister of Joseph N. Riccardelli and his wife Anne and George Riccardelli and his wife Roberta. She is the aunt to many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass Celebrating Florence's Eternal Life was held on Monday, April 23rd at 10am in St. Patrick Church, Stoneham. Interment was in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
