Frances (Flaherty) Akell

Frances F. (Flaherty) Akell of Stoneham, passed away on Friday April 14, 2017. She was 81 years of age. Fran was the beloved wife of 52 years to Alfred "Fred" Akell. Cherished sister of Alice J. Hegarty and her late husband Richard. Loving daughter of the late Richard and Frances (Scott) Flaherty. Dear sister in law of Theresa Akell and her late husband Harold Jr. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Fran was a teacher in Reading for 39 years. She was a member of the gardening club in Stoneham and the Stoneham Public Library Board. She was an avid knitter, gardener and loved to read.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONHEAM Tuesday April 18th, 2017 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Fran's Eternal Life in St. Patrick's Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am.

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share remembrances with the family on Monday April 17th, 2017 from 4-7pm in the funeral home. Parking attendants and elevator available.
