Francesco Carriglio

January 3, 1935 — August 16, 2020

Francesco Carriglio, beloved husband Josephine (Piazza) Carriglio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 16th, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Augusta, Sicily, he is the son of the late Gisueppe and Maria (Lombardo) Carriglio.

Francesco came to the United States in 1965 in pursuit of the American dream. He later brought Josephine Piazza, who became his wife of 50 years to America and started their family. They settled in Stoneham, Massachusetts and raised four children. Francesco worked as a self-employed mason and contractor for 40 years. Because of his skill and expertise, he was dubbed "a master of his trade." His peers and friends in the masonry business referred to him as "Mastro Ciccio". He enjoyed his family, working, horse racing, playing cards, traveling back to Sicily to see his family, and spending time at the coffee shops with his many friends. He was loved by his family and friends and will truly be missed.

He is the beloved husband of Josephine (Piazza) Carriglio. Devoted Father of Joseph Carriglio and his wife Maria of Saugus, Millie Heinen and her husband Albert of Stoneham, Leonarda Firmin and her husband Andrew of North Andover, and Fred Carriglio and his wife Diane of Wilmington. Cherished grandfather of Francesco, Joseph, and Victoria Carriglio, Liana and Matthew Heinen, Mikayla and Noah Firmin, Gabriella, Arianna, and Nicolas Carriglio. Loving brother of Concetta Faraci and the late Carmela Zanti, Gaetano, Salvatore, Carmelo and Angelo Carriglio
