Francis E. Burke, of Stoneham, passed away on Monday March 14, 2022 with his family by his side. He was 94 years of age.
Francis, a lifelong resident of Stoneham, was the son of the late Francis and Alwilda (Bagley) Burke.
Francis served and satisfactorily completed a period of training and service on active duty in the United States Navy, World War II. He graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston.
He worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as the Chief Civil Engineer, as well as a part time land surveyor.
Francis loved spending time with his family and friends, especially at Hampton Beach. He also loved to golf, fish, travel and play cards with his family.
Francis was the beloved and cherished husband of the late Jean (Fama) Burke. He was the devoted father of Sharon Balboni and her husband Ed, Paul Burke and his wife Ellyn and Sandy Dalbeck and her husband Brad. Loving grandfather of Kristen Burns and her husband P.J, Lisa Hould and her husband Greg, Katherine Krates and her husband Nick, John Burke, Lindsay Liberti and her husband Eric, Heather Dettorre and her husband Nick and Dylan Dalbeck. Great grandfather of Ryan, Brady, Lyla, Jacob, and Hope Burns, Logan, Noelle, Noah, Caleb, and Elijah Hould, Carter and Kaylee Krates, Joshua and Hannah Liberti, and Tyler Dettorre. Dear brother of Margaret Hayes, George Burke and the late William, David, and Pat Burke, Ethel Duff, Nancy England and Maureen Aruda
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family on Wednesday March 16th, 2022 in the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm followed by a Funeral Service Celebrating Francis' Eternal Life at 12:30 pm. Parking attendants and elevator available. Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
