Francis "Frank" J. McCarthy of Wilmington formerly of Reading passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House. He was 71 years of age.
Born in Winchester, Frank was the loving son of the late Francis and Helen McCarthy. Frank was a warm and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He will be sadly missed.
Frank graduated from Stoneham High School in 1955. He worked at Lawson Machine and Tool. He also worked at the Barile Family Funeral Homes of Stoneham and Reading and Farmer & Dee Funeral Home of Tewksbury.
Frank was the Beloved husband of Elizabeth (Long) McCarthy with whom he shared 45 years of marriage. He was the Devoted father of Lynn Mirisola, Thomas, Cheryl, Frank and Paul McCarthy and Cherished grandfather of eleven. He was also the Loving brother of Jean O'Connell and her husband Timothy.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Friday at 10 am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Frank's life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 11am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours, Thursday 4-8 pm. Parking attendants will be available. Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
