Francis W. Stevens of Wilmington passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2003 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was 87 years of age.
Born in Cambridge, Francis was the son of the late Edward Stevens and Caroline (Sawtelle) Stevens. He graduated from Medford Highs School in 1933 and moved to Wilmington over 40 years ago. Francis loved gardening. During World War II, he proudly served our country as a Private 1st Class in the United States Army.
Francis was the beloved husband of the late Agnes (Blackley) Stevens. He was the devoted father of Patricia Dudley of ME, Margaret Smith of NY, Karen White and Frank Stevens, both of Wilmington the cherished grandfather of 6 and great grandfather of 7. Francis was the dear brother of Edward Stevens Jr. of FL.
A Funeral Service will be conducted on Wednesday at 10am in the Joseph Doherty Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING with Reverend David Reid officiating. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours Tuesday 4-7pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot located behind Atlantic Supermarket on Haven St. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
