Frank J. DePinto of Stoneham formerly of Somerville passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at his home. He was 80 years of age.
Born and raised in Somerville, Frank was the loving son of the late Frances (Gesmundo) DePinto and John DePinto. Frank was a warm and caring husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather and friend. He will be sorely missed.
Frank owned DePinto Fuel in Somerville. The business was started in 1929 as John DePinto & Son by his father. The business was passed to Frank from his father.
Frank proudly sponsored Somerville Little League teams in both the major and minor divisions for over 25 years. He was an active member in Somerville Babe Ruth, as a sponsor, coach and Board of Director for over 25 years.
During the Korean War, Frank proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Navy. Frank was a member of the VFW, Logan Post in Somerville since 1954. He was a member of the Sons of Italy in Medford for over 40 years.
Frank was a graduate of St. Clement High School, Class of 1947. He also attended Boston College.
Frank was the beloved husband of Anna (Polvere) DePinto. He was the devoted father of John DePinto, Frances Carino and her husband John, Donato DePinto, Annette Slattery and her husband Christopher, Frank DePinto, Jr. and his wife Jackie and Anthony DePinto. He was the cherished grandfather of 10 and great grandfather of 2.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM Tuesday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Frank's Life in St. Patrick Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10 am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours Monday 4-8 pm. Parking attendants will be available. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, Stoneham.
