Frank X. Gentile Sr. of Billerica passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. He was 82 years of age.
Born in Calabria, Italy, Frank came to America when he was a young boy on the ship Roma in 1935. He was the loving son of the late Salvatore Gentile and Angelina (Catalano) Gentile. Frank was a very kind, devoted man, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and son. He was beloved by all who came into contact with him.
He was a gentle, humble soul. He had a wonderful garden in his backyard in Billerica that he shared always with everyone. Frank also loved planting roses in the yard and would pick one whenever one bloomed and bring it for his wife, Patricia. He personified Love for all of his children and grandchildren in his loving, gentle, generous ways.
Frank was the devoted husband of the late Patricia (Murray) Gentile. He was the beloved father of Frank Gentile Jr. and his wife Anne of Reading, Steven Gentile of Florida, Philip Gentile and Richard Gentile, both of Billerica, Lillian Gentile of Lowell and Paula Gentile of Reading. Frank was the father in law of Juliet Gentile of Swansea. He was the cherished grandfather of Kevin, Jennifer, Melissa and Steffanie Gentile. Frank was the dear brother of James, Salvator, Anthony, and Daniel Gentile and the late Joseph, Eugene, and Pasquale Gentile. Frank was also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, his dog Buddy and his cat Spooky.
Funeral from the Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING Tuesday at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Frank's Eternal Life in St. Mary's Church, 796 Boston Rd. Billerica at 11am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Monday from 3-7pm in the Funeral Home. Interment Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
